Disability Services Commissioner – The Disability Services Commissioner aims to improve services for people with a disability in Victoria through assisting in the resolution of complaints raised by or on behalf of people who receive services.

 Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission – The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission is a government entity that protects human rights in Victoria through engaging with policy makers, advocacy and education.  

 Disability Discrimination Legal Service – The Disability Discrimination Legal Service Inc (DDLS) is a statewide independent community legal centre that specialises in disability discrimination legal matters. 

 Villamanta Legal Service – Villamanta is a Community Legal Service operating throughout the state of Victoria on disability-related legal and justice issues for people who have a disability, with a focus on intellectual disability.

Advocacy

AMIDA Action for More Independence & Dignity in Accommodation -Advocates for good housing for people with disabilities. 

Down Syndrome Association Victoria – Down Syndrome Victoria is a membership organisation. We provide parents, families, professionals and friends of people with Down syndrome with support, encouragement, information and resources. 

Leadership Plus – Leadership Plus is an innovator in diversity inclusion – focusing on leadership and capacity building, consultancy, advocacy, training and employment. 

Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) – The Victorian Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) provides services to protect and promote the rights, interests and dignity of people with disability (specifically intellectual impairment, mental disorder, brain injury or dementia) living in Victoria. 

 

Youth Disability Advocacy Service – Youth Disability Advocacy Service (YDAS) is a state wide advocacy service for young people with disabilities in Victoria. We are the only advocacy service in Australia which exists specifically to work directly with young people with disabilities to achieve their human rights. 

NDIS

Disability Loop – Disability Loop is a way to find out more about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Every Australian Counts – Is the organisation behind the introduction of the NDIS and continues to advocate for the rights of NDIS participants. The NDIS is a national scheme to provide targeted support and better coordination and access to services for people with disabilities.

Aboriginal Resource Guide – Western Metro Region Melbourne. This guide includes information about Aboriginal arts and culture, education and services for Aboriginal people.  

Koorie Heritage Trust Cultural Centre – Located at Federation Square, the Koorie Heritage Cultural Centre aims to share and educate about Indigenous culture to all Victorians.

Action on Disability within Ethnic Communities Inc. (ADEC) – is a state-wide organisation that strives to empower people with a disability from non-English speaking backgrounds, their carers, and families to fully participate as members of the Victorian community. 

Migrant Information Centre (MIC) – MIC has been assisting refugees and migrants residing in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne to understand Australian life, integrate into a multicultural community and access services since 1999.
